Kristian holds a MSc in physical metallurgy at NTH in 1991. His master thesis focused on friction welding of aluminum / SiC composites. Kristian worked 14 years at Volvo Aero Norway Kongsberg with the production of components for nickel based jet engines, steel - and titanium alloys. Here he worked as a metallurgist and methods owner for various processes. Heat treatment, vacuum soldering and spark processing was central, but he has also worked with plasma spraying, welding and cutting tools. Parallel to this Kristian was a fellow at the Department of Production and Quality Engineering at NTNU in the period 2000-2003. In 2004 he defended his Ph.D. thesis "Electrical Discharge Machining as manufacturing method in Aerospace products". Moreover, Kristian worked six years at REC Wafer's Technology Department in Porsgrunn. Here he worked primarily with technology for block and wafer sawing processes. Was project manager for technology transfer to factories and responsible for specifications of saw wire. At Tel-Tek Kristian works with projects in powder mechanics and energy systems. Kristian is 48 years old and lives in Skien, is married and has four children. In his spare time he’s an amateur astronomer and plays veteran football.
